I was trying to see if I could fix a problem with my wifi not working on my PSP.

I disassembled the PSP all the way to the wifi chip.
Then I pried the chip a little to see if it just pulled away or if it was soldered on.

Well I didn't pry very hard, but I heard a bunch of tiny little snaps all at once and the wifi chip came up to reveal about a hundred little circles on the PCB with matching circles on the bottom of the chip.

Does this mean I just ruined my wifi for good?

Also, will my PSP work with this damage done?
Wifi isn't that important to me, so I don't mind not being able to use it, as long as I can use my PSP.

Any advice is appreciated!

Sounds like you have broken it for good. If you disconnect the Wifi board from the PSP mother board it might work . The only way to find out though is to do it

im no expert, but that sounds very bad and unless you are a super expert at soldering, you might never be able to fix it... (if games still work, sell it as the wifi is broken and get a new one...)

if it's not important, why you even bother to fix it ?
unless you are really good w/ solder, I suggest you get motherboard replacement. (2nd isn't expensive)
