Rooting and custom ROMs aren’t something I’d want to rely on for my daily driver e.g. stability, DRM cat and mouse, availability, etc. All issues I’ve had when dealing with rooting/ROMs.

I also have insurance and I’ve had **** upgrades on Android as well.

Both platforms have their pros and cons.

Android doesn't really have drm like apple does, lineageOS runs fine, custom roms and recovery is only needed once ota updates stop, my nexus 5 ran android 10 just fine, now I have a pixel 1st gen 128gb

The Pixel even looks like a better version of an iphone imho

Android is more for poweusers, it's closer to a desktop environment than I would say ios is

Never heard of Safety net and Widevine? Lineage OS also doesn’t support everything (e.g. my old Note 4 variant) and other ROMs can be hit or miss.

I don’t want to be going to pay for something with Android Pay just to have issues because Magisk needs to be updated, if one is even available.

I would also avoid a phone such as yours due to it’s lack of expandable storage and 128GB just isn’t enough for me these days, the Pixel just looks like a phone to me.

I do BTW use Android on other devices and have used Android devices in the past for my daily driver, I just prefer iOS right now for my daily driver phone. I rarely find myself ‘needing’ Android.

128gb is plenty for me, since I have other means for storage, I don't tend to keep my phones extremely cluttered, the bulk of that mainly for movies, recording videos, music etc
I do agree I would recommend one with an sd slot (which iphones don't have either), it'll take a while for me to fill 128gb on a phone vs 128gb on my desktop

To be honest I never had safety net issues, the only app that doesn't like root is earnin

Most phones has at least one custom rom better than stock, I'm still running stock on my pixel, the only reason Id put a custom rom is for better governors for the cpu and gpu, and better hoplugs, better battery life, without losing performance
