Gaming I need to press extremely hard on my Lite's d pad

so ,i got a problem with my DS Lite's d pad ,i need to press like 50 times harder to move around ,will i need to replace the d pad or just clean it ?

I would try cleaning it first, with 99% alcohol if you can. Then go from there.
