I am interested in buying a used PSP, but don't know which model to get.
I want to get one thats
    • relatively easy to hack, without needing extra equipment.
    • has tv out
    • isn't the PSP go
Also, is there anything I should watch out for when buying a PSP?

Isn't there, like, the exact same topic underneath this one?

This is pretty much your only option. I doubt you want semi cfw, and hacking a PSP 3000 is hard. 1000 doesn't have TV out. PSPgo is PSPgo.

but why would you want to keep your psp on all the time? i mean, there's near to no difference between the 2000 and 3000. the mic is the only physical showing of anything different.

Huh what? You really don't know anything about the PSP, how can you give advice? Of course you don't keep it on all the time, there's a standby function which doesn't waste battery life unless you pause while in the middle of a game.

    a 1000 or 2000 with 5.03 firmware or lower.
you can use Remotejoy on a 1000 to have the game display on your computers monitor though usb if you don't mind using your pc's speakers for the audio directly from the psp take this rout since some 2000 models are not fully hackable but if you don't mind that get a 2000 for the extra ram.
i don't really recommend a 3000 model since it doesn't have enough extra features and will cost more than 1000 or 2000 model psp.

Yes, exactly. Exit game, enter standby more, don't lose a great amount of battery power (about 10 percent per week), hack remains, ???, profit!

Personally I wouldn't trust myself to remember to check if my PSP still has power and I really wouldnt recommend anybody else doing it that way since we as human beings tend to forget things.
