My Razer Diamondback died and I need to get a new one. My two choices are Logitech MX 518 Gaming Grade Optical Mouse and another Razer Diamondback. I've got difficulties deciding which to get, so I hope you guys can help me out here.

I want a mouse that is reliable and won't die out as fast, gaming grade and has a nice casing which won't get greasy or have a slimy feel due to sweaty palms and sweat. So, which do you guys think is a better choice? The Logitech MX 518 Gaming Grade Optical Mouse is 30 bucks cheaper than the diamondback by the way.

Thanks

I have owned both mice - I ended up replacing my Logitech with a Microsoft Habu mouse (made by Razer). Best mouse I've ever owned for PC gaming. I find that the Logitech gets greasy/slimy - Razer mice never have. Also, the Logitech mouse collects dirt on the underside that affects how it moves - the Razer mice do not. The Razer mice cost more, but they're worth it.

also dont forget to replace those stock mouse feets. Thought it was kinda dumb at first but after using it i cant live without it. you can almost play air hockey with your mouse if you get mouse pad wax too heh

mine were a different brand but any teflon skates should be good, also they dont really wear out that much, had mine for 1 year before the mouse broke down

Although it is not a "gaming grade" mouse, I use the Logitech MX Revolution. The DPI is 2000ish(I cant recall the true number) but the thing that got me hooked were the 5 buttons, two mouse wheel buttons, to mouse wheels and the main wheel has tilt scroll. With uberOptions installed with Logitech's SetPoint software, I can program any of the buttons/wheels to any key on the keyboard, that way, no matter what game I play, I use every key on the mouse.

Don't get a Widn0ows one, when you install it, you can't re-install it on any PC, unless you solder the insides.

Get a Logitech MX-1000.

I've always used logitech. It's not that there mice have never had issues, but they have great customer service. I got a newer model of a mouse that had a bad left click to it, without even exchanging.

Love the new revision of the G5. Much better than the original G5. Has a better scroll, better color, 2 thumb buttons. Well worth the price.
