I heard the SCPH-1001 PS1's are easiest to mod

    How do you play backups on them the easy way?

    Buy a psp and play backups from that lol. Thats the easiest way

    They are the easiest to mod because they have 4 solder points. They are really hard to find though because they were the first model of the ps1 and they have a different a/v plug in the back.

    You don't have to install a modchip though. You can just do the swap trick with any ps1.

    I prefer doing it with PS1. Can someone explain the steps to play backups the easy way on the SCPH-1001 PS1's?

    If it's one of the original PSXs then you need at least one original game. Even the demo discs will do. It has to be something with quite a few tracks on it tho. Go into music player, open the tray and stick in the original cd. Then using a bit of blutack stick the sensor button down. When it's finished loading in the table of contents swap it out for the backup and exit back to the main screen. your backup should load then. This only works on original Playstations though.
