I heard that firmwares about 3.55 can now be flashed to a custom firmware. Can someone help?

I've looked online, but I'm not really sure what I can/can't trust. If someone could point me to a good resource, I'd appreciate.

    Edit, read wrong.

For older consoles, all fat PS3s and early slim ones, you can downgrade them to 3.55 with a hardware flasher, eg E3 Flasher.

if u have a 3.55 of below ps3 check out the tutorials forum or just use youtube for a tutorial there are 100's out there which will put u in the right direction.
There is also psx-scene which is a goldmine for ps3 hacking.

ohh you mean above? the " about " confused me for a second.
And no, firmware past 3.55 can't be hacked. If the system is an early Slim model or fat model then it can be downgraded with an E3 flasher.
On newer models you can install ODE but it doesn't work on the newest firmware iirc. But ODE is a bad idea. Maybe you should wait a bit longer, i've seen on ps3hax that some people are trying to hack the newer firmwares.
