If I'm reading this right, all I need to do now is make a magic memory stick, right? Can anyone help me out with this? I have a 2 GB memory stick and the tutorials I've read confuse me because they're squashed in with the Pandora's battery instructions, and I'm pretty sure I don't need one of those, thanks to the Datel Power Tool.

Thanks in advance.

No this is a PC application to make the MMS. Only a CFW psp can make a Pandora battery and only the fat and early Slim's at that.

No problem. Make sure that you come back again if you need any help when you get your battery.

Is there a way to tell if your memory stick is magic? It seems to have worked but I just need reassurance.

Thanks yet again for any help.

Edit: I think it must have worked because a small amount of MB is now being used on my memory stick that wasn't before.

That it works with your Pandora....if it's not correct you'll end up with a blank screen. (you did get the Sony OFW eboot too as well as that MMS tool?)

Well, thanks. Just gotta wait until maybe tuesday to get my battery.

Yeah I used the official NA 1.50 firmware, seemed to work just fine. Is it safe to start loading ISOs yet? Or should I wait until after I've installed CFW?

Firstly 1.50 will brick your slim. Good choice there! Pick either 3.71 or 5.00.

Wait until you've cfw'd your PSP, reformat the stick and then load it up.

Ah crap. Does region matter? My PSP is EU/PAL. I'll go find the 5.00 one or something. Will reformatting undo the magic?

Updates have no region so just pick up the 5.00 Sony update from wherever and use it in Rain's tool.

Once you've installed CFW you don't need it to be'magic' (and if you do then you can always remake it the same way). Formatting it for use removes the IPL (Initial Program Loader iirc) and creates the correct directory structure.

Just wait until your battery arrives!

There's no advantage to 4.01 over 5.00. In my opinion your only real choice is 3.71 or 5.00 as i said earlier. If you pick one above 3.71 then it may as well be the latest...any reason behind 4.01?

My reason is it told me off for using 5.00. The top one on the list was 4.01, so I just downloaded the corresponding eboot. Maybe I'm using an outdated version of the MMS maker?

Doesn't matter really then...just realise that there's no disadvantage for you to update to 5.00M33-4 if you're already on 4.01 and are a new CFW user. Update once you've happily used the program.

Will I need to go through the whole process again to update, or will I be able to boot the CFW updates from my modded PSP?

Once you're on CFW it's a simple process of running an update from your XMB (over the network is another option but i'm old fashioned).

I just hope after all this that you're not using a new un-cfw-able slim....

So the steps are:

1. PSP is turned off
2. Magic memory stick is inserted
3. Datel Tool insterted, PSP turned on
4. Wait until the lights stop flashing, press X
5. Switch back to normal battery

Is this correct?
