Hacking I have a couple of questions about twilight hack

I'm planning on trying to install the wii backup loader on my wii. I just have a few questions about whether the wii will have a possibility of being bricked.

Is the twilight hack/homebrew channel safe to install onto the wii? I havent updated my wii firmware in a while, so if i install it, will i still be able to update my wii's firmware? I have heard that it might brick the wii. When installing the homebrew channel, is there any way to remove it completely if i need to send my wii in for repairs?

The Homebrew Channel was installed like thousand of times and NEVER, EVER somebody got bricked. Only, if you turn the power down when it's installing.
