Hacking I have a choice between this and an Acekard(info inside)

I found this for 6.xx and an acekard 2 for 9.xx i think. Are there any distinct differences between the 2 that I should know about?

Use? Homebrew games, media(movies and music, mostly), and DS games.
Price Range? Under 20 USD.
Slot 1/2? 1
Built in or expandable memory? MicroSD, but onboard would be good too
GBA compatibility? Doesn't matter
Special features?
-Built in cheat engine
-Music/media player
-Auto Patching thingie
-Supports AT LEAST download play, wifi is a bonus
-SDHC support(not 100% necessary)
-Come with a reader (again, not necessary, but would be good)
-Slow motion/Speed up (not necessary, but would be a huge plus)


Any thoughts?

Yes, the Acekard 2 is much better. Not even close.

The DSTT runs games fine, but it lacks some of the most basic features that nearly every other flash cart has. Its menu doesn't sort the games alphabetically, and doesn't allow you to navigate folders (all games are shown in one long list).

The Acekard 2 has one of the best menu systems of any flash cart.

I only have a DSTT, and I've been mostly happy with it, but at this point I'd still recommend the Acekard instead. Mainly due to the plethora of fake DSTT's and the long waits between DSTT firmware updates, which usually wind up only fixing some Japanese games anyway.

If they'd get more regular updates and you could be sure you were getting a real one, I'd have no problem recommending a DSTT, but as is, spend the tiny amount more and get the Acekard.

No doubt that Acekard 2 is far superior to DSTT, if I were you I would definitely go the Acekard 2, you will not be disappointed.

I agree the Acekard is much better at firmware updates for all games, not just Japanese. It has a great menu that actually sorts the name correctly and displays folders. There is one major flaw w/ it though. It has problems with WIFI play depending on the game and who is the host. I have R4s and DSTTs and they are rock solid at wifi. When ever my friend jumps in with his Acekard we have issues depending on the game. On some games he has to host it or it won't work. If he joins in when a bunch of others are playing with other cards, it will cause the game to stop working. Check out the forums about it. This includes games like Mario Kart, Worms 2, etc.

For the DSTT, besides the fake issues, the menu is not that great. I stick w/ YSMenu. I don't care about the ICONS displaying. When you have over 150 games on a 8GB card, I simply like the organizing by folders and looking at the names. You can see more on the screen that way. It is quicker.

I doubt I'd be going online for too many games, mostly, I just want to be able to play, and if it gets boring after awhile, play online to keep my attention.

With all the fakes going around for DSTT's, I'd just pay the extra few dollars and go with a AceKard 2.
