Okay so my friend gave me an R4 because he didn't need it and didn't care about his DS. So I took it gratefully and it was an R4i-3DS with wifi (something like that). The manufacturer was r4i-factory. Problem is I obviously need a ds lite to update it so I have a few questions:
Difference between firmware and kernel?
Can it run on 3DS 9.9 E?
Can it run on DSi XL 1.4.5 Australian?
I have both DSi xl and 3DS and I can easily get a DS lite. So what do I need to update firmware or kernel? And how and where should I get the update files?
