    yeah.
the joystick is shit, I dunno if it's made to be able to be taken apart to fix that, I need to look into that and if it's possible to add more games to it.
    it's 2 player and everything.

anybody know about MAME cabinets and such?

it differs only a tiny bit from this.

Try: http://www.happcontrols.com/ to look for parts to fix the joystick.
Also there are a lot of MAME Arcade/Cabinet info if you google for them.

Anyway, if the original game is still there and runs, I'd just fix the joystick instead of converting to MAME. [IMG] Oldskool fun.

Me and my Mom beat it earlier.
    Took a few tries.
I doubt it's possible but if it's possible to add games to the existing cabinet I'd really like that.
How fun can one game be forever?
    It's so short, too.
It's not as old school since I own the cabinet and I don't run out of quarters.
I just tap the wire for credits now.

Oh I thought it'd be a nice display place in a game room or so. But I don't know if you can find System 16 boards/games easily.

Always wanted to get my own cabinet done, got into a bit of a cash lately so maybe I should start it soon.

So you buy hardware with games already on?
    No choosing exactly what?
Hm.. I'll have to look into this for a while.

    Hadrian - Who doesn't love a cabinet?

I stumbled across an article about making your own a year or two ago and I've really wanted one since then.
My mom's friend had this cabinet forever and didn't want it, offered it to us. [IMG]

    Awesome! I'm so jealous. [IMG]

I was about to build a MAME cabinet once but it's just too expensive, for now at least, but I'm sure that I'm going to build one sometime.

It's great to have an arcade cabinet if you have the room for it. I've got a beautiful Killer Instinct cabinet myself. It's pretty easy to swap other boards in (since it's a JAMMA machine) and I also use it as a MAME machine since it's got a nice 25" monitor and a large control panel area.

Your Golden Axe is probably the SEGA System 16B hardware model but you will need to buy other boards and controls to play the other games for this system. It's much easier to get a MAME system going and have all the games you want on it. Just try MAME on your PC and decide if it's something you want to have in your cabinet.

Also check rec.games.video.arcade.collecting which isn't as active as it used to be but still a good source for any questions you may have.
