Hacking I done messed up. Upgrading to 9.0-9.2 Fail

Hey guys,

Upon successfully following the popular tutorial I have made a rookie mistake. I am so disapointed, disapointed to the fact that I believe I wont be able to retrace my steps.

Following the tutorial where trying to get RxTools to boot on startup I had to update the system to 9.0-9.2 right. HOWEVER I accidently installed the most recent 9.9.E-26E on it . Everything was going so well until this happened man! I feel worthless , is there any chance of me doing anything about this? I cant even run RxTools without it telling me to update my system?

Any help is appreciated guys, I've come so far!

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine there probably is.

Wait, you can hardmod a nand backup into n3ds? never seen a tutorial about it, only o3ds.

The browser tells me to update the system whenever I open it. Question is do I update it or not?

rule of thumb in 3ds hacking, NEVER update. unless it's absolutely necessary

Yes, you can hardmod a N3DS so you can restore a NAND backup.
If you are in the UK, go send a pm to @gamesquest1 he does hardmods for O3DS (XL) and N3DS (XL)
You won't regrett it, worth every cent!

If you have the know-how and correct tools you can easily do it yourself (however if you don't know what you're doing then don't do it)

Well it was going while it lasted. How would I go about with just restoring the whole DS and restoring Mario Kart 7 back to sysnand?Or is that a myth too, I just want to play Mario Kart 7 now lmao.

If you can't redownload it from the eShop then it's probably locked to your NNID, and you can't relink the NNID in sysNAND as long as it's still linked in emuNAND. You'll have to update to get into the eShop at all but that can't do much more harm at this point. I say give it a shot and see if you can redownload it, and look into having a NAND mod done so you can restore your backup.

you'd still need a NAND mod.... unless ofc you bought it from the eShop in which case you just need to redownload it.... which, atm would need you to fully update the console I believe (don't quote me)

if you can solder at all it's only 4 wires, pretty easy
