I can't get my S2V detected. I have a 64gb san disk if thats important. I've tried using YAMT but it isn't really working.

Go to settings/devices/storage.
Turn use YAMT off.
Turn off the Vita.
Insert sd2vita and card.
Turn on the Vita, ignore any format options.

HOW TO Format:
Go to settings/devices/storage.
Choose developer options.
Select TexFAT format GC-SD's storage (game card to SD adapter storage format DO NOT SELECT THIS IF YOUR SD IS ALREADY SET UP AS IT FORMATS YOUR CARD).

HOW TO Copy Memory card data over:
Go to VitaShell, press circle until you see all the mount points (ux0, ur0, etc.)

Press triangle and mount uma0 (it will mount your empty GC-SD).
Go to ux0, press down once to get off the ..., press triangle, select "Mark all".
Press triangle again and select copy.

Press circle to return to all the mount points uma0, ux0, ur0, etc).
8344d9510ee4aaf39da3fd600a2867d4.jpg
Enter uma0, press triangle and paste.

HOW TO Set ux0 mount to game card sd adapter:
Go back to settings, devices, storage.
Make sure use YAMT is checked.
ux0 should be set to SD2Vita.
You can set uma0 to memory card or internal storage, but I don't recommend it (save, preserve the flash storage).
Restart.

If you don't have that option in yamt-
Download the new YAMT installer and uninstall, then reinstall YAMT version 4 lite or higher.
If you have a 3G OLED, install the full version so you can use the 3G-SD card adapter later.

When I try to mount uma0 it tells me to attach an USB flash drive
My bad, with psvsd it's a little different - so I mentioned the wrong way.

With SD2Vita, after formatting.
In YAMT, mount uma0 to SD2Vita.
ux0 as internal on slim, memcard on OLED.
Reboot.
Then copy all in ux0 over to uma0 using vitashell.

Then in YAMT setup ux0 as sd2vita
And uma0 as default.
Reboot again.

personally, this is the yamt version I recommend: https://github.com/AuroraWright/yamt-vita-lite

you don't have to mess with any configurations using it. I don't have a memory card, but it's supposed to make the memory card uma automatically if one is inserted. sd2vita is always ux0, I believe.

If you use that, do you have the storage devices menu in settings? I just read the readme for that

Slimmed down variant of yamt which doesn't rely on a config file, disables itself if there's nothing in the cartridge slot, and just mounts SD2Vita as ux0 and the Sony memory card or internal storage (of a Vita 2000/IMCUnlocked 1000) as uma0.

Does it start you with Vitashell installed on the sd or something? I'm intrigued.

Oh, no no no it probably requires SD setup on PC right?

@Anderxale , does that sd2vita install itself to the boot_config.txt? the one I linked you to does, and there's no addition to the the regular config.txt:

Yes, well kind of...

After installing YAMT, it still needs to be turned on in the menu. If you turn it on, leaving it at "default" is sd2vita as ux0.

The reason that I wanted to know is YAMT can actually format the SD cards from the menu and not need a PC.

I've always formatted on the pc anyway, since systems can take a while and a lot of the time, not everything is erased (i.e. the xregistry user counter on the ps3). with that, the only way to fix it is to format on the pc. it just writes over the old information otherwise, which can be a mess imo. :P

I'm not using psvsd. I am using a sd2vita in the game slot.
I know you are. :)
It's not very different, I'll start over.

In settings/devices/storage devices.
Check use YAMT.
ux0 set to memory card if you were using a memory card - or set to internal storage if you don't have a memory card and you are using slim or PSTV.
Set uma0 to SD2Vita.
Reboot.

HOW TO Copy Memory card data over:
Sorry that my images say psvsd... pretend they say sd2vita.
Go to VitaShell, press circle until you see all the mount points (ux0, ur0, etc.)

Go to ux0, press down once to get off the ..., press triangle, select "Mark all".
Press triangle again and select copy.

Enter uma0, press triangle and paste.

In settings/devices/storage devices.
Check use YAMT.
Set ux0 to SD2Vita.
Set uma0 to default.
Reboot.

I can't access uma0 because I can't mount it because it says I need a USB flash drive
Ok.

In settings do you have devices/storage devices?

In that do you see developer options?

If yes open that menu and touch the texFAT format option.

Did you have that option?

That's fine, that's normal.

Ok then set ux0 to memory card if you have one.

Set ux0 to internal storage if you don't have a member card and have a slim or PSTV.

Set uma0 to SD2Vita and reboot.

Can you access uma0 from vitashell after reboot?

It's not formatting hahaha. It does work... but we might have to play around with it. Or...

Do you have a PC and a Micro-SD adapter?

Whatever you prefer - we can keep trying to get your Vita to format it (I'll go try too) or I can walk you through a windows PC format.

We need to format the SD card to exFat and remove any hidden partitions. I don't know how to guide you on that without a windows or linux PC...

I'll attempt formatting and see if I can help you using just the Vita... give me a minute.
