Hello Amazing GBATEMP community.

i managed to brick my wii last night using Yet another mod manager(?). i was under manage priiloader, which i thought i had installed, but didnt due to an error in patching ios56.

in the mod manager, whose specific name i cant remember but can look up as soon as i get my hands on the sd card (at gfs place, i was under manage priiloader, which had 3 options, i chose option number 2.

now my wii is bricked. however i do have preloader installed. how do i go from here/ what info do i also need to include?

thank you so much for your time and i am eagerly awaiting your response.

(its only half my wii, mine and my gfs, we paid half and half... so i really need to fix this)

Ein.

Hold RESET on wiiboot.
Go Launch Title -> Homebrew Channel
Run Wad Manager and install IOS70-64-v6687.wad and System Menu-NUS-v48x.wad (NTSC-J = 480; NTSC = 481; PAL = 482)
When you boot back into the homebrew channel install priiloader

Normally it's the HBC option that stops working, by telling it to launch a title and then selecting HBC it then works.
You could just try running wad manager from preloader though.

Holding the Reset button just boots in2 Priiloader! lol

oh mine auto boots to PREloader. thats why i never hold down reset.

okay, so i couldnt get to either homebrew channel or anything from preloader. my only options are:

system menu: obviously doesnt work or i wouldnt be here

homebrew channel: doesnt do anything, comes up with error message. let me know if you need to know what it says.

installed file; didnt do anything, error message i think (idr)

load installed file: this brings up boot.dol i think and some other thing.. dont know what either of them are. i guess they are on my sd card.

system menu hacks: this works but doesnt seem to be helpful.

settings: also works but doesnt seem useful.

so what do i do now. and please talk like i dont knwo what im doing.

if you CAN boot a boot.dol, grab the dop-mii v13 boot.dol and throw it in the root directory, launch it, and use it to install a system menu (assuming you have a wifi connection).

i dont have a launch title option...

The launch title option is in Priiloader v0.4+

Load a wad manager .dol and install the wads (offline) or use DOP-mii .dol to install them (wifi on wii).

Load/Install file -> Press 1

Extract HBC-Forwarder.zip to sd:\ and sd:\apps\HBC -extract to both.
Extract priiloader 0.5 to sd:\apps
Download hacks.ini to sd:\
Extract Multi-Mod Manager 13.2 to sd:\apps
Extract cios60-v6174.zip to sd:\wad
Extract (4.1u)-System Menu-NUS-v449.zip to sd:\wad

Hold reset, boot the wii into preloader
Select load/install
Install HBC-forwarder
Select preloader settings, set autoboot/return to installed file
Reboot the wii, HBC loads
Launch MMM
Select load another ios -load ios250
Select wadmanger
Install cios60-v6174
Install system menu v449 (4.1u)
Press 2 to load App Manager
Launch HBC
Load Priiloader 0.5
Hold B press +/A -Install
Hold reset and boot into priiloader
select system menu hacks, enable block disk/online updates and any others you like. Be sure you know what they do. The black screen at startup does just that.

I'm pretty sure I have Bootmii as Boot 2 as well.

I remember setting it to that when I first modded my Wii.

There's no USB key or something that can just say "HEY START"

Alright, can you try booting into that and seeing if it works? You need a NAND backup to restore though.

How do I boot into that?

I know holding the reset button when powering on is supposed to load you into Priiloader, at least, that's what it does for me.

It's not loading Priiloader, however.

And I might have one, if not, they're findable, right?

Unfortunately, if findable means Googling and downloading a NAND dump, that is not possible. Each Wii is unique in terms of NAND dumps.
