Hacking I am not sure how to update my 3ds emunand

Finally! I have bought 3ds! Now I am looking where to buy Gateway 3ds. First thing that I want to do with my 3ds is to install emunand and update it, so I could buy new PP in eShop. But I am scared about errors. I heard, that some people accidently updated a real nand and others. What should I do to properly install the latest emunand? And how big is the chance, that I will get a piece of junk with no flashcarts working?

Yep. I think that you already have a NAND Backup.
1) Turn the 3DS off (if you havn't done it yet)
2) Power it on, go to the system settings and enter GW mode
3) Let the 3DS restart
4) Go into the system settings, make sure that there is a "GW3D" in front of the version number
MAKE SURE NOT TO LEAVE THE SETTINGS FROM NOW ON!!!
5) Setup the internet connection through the system settings
6) Go to the update function, make sure that there's a "GW3D" in front of your FW version and run the update.
7) Enter the GW mode after the 3DS restarted (it will be in normal NAND after the update)
