Hyperlinked URL's count towards character count

So say I have this hyperlink right here. The URL associated with the text counts towards the character limit.

I think the character limit just uses the BB code character count, which would also increase if doing things like bolding or italicising your text too. It’s an issue I ran into while the Patron profile options were around.

Just one? It is literally the only letter A!

Setting color, font type+size, bold, italic. Those are 98 according to text editor:

Of course it is an extreme case but using formatting and links adds up quickly.
