"The new Kirby game is a DS re-imagining of a Super Nintendo favorite, Kirby Super Star. The update will be titled Kirby Super Star Ultra and will include fully animated cut scenes. Kirby will once again copy his enemies' abilities and battle King Dedede and Meta Knight. The DS game will feature new modes called Revenge of the King and Meta Knight Ultra, and new touch screen mini-games for Download Play. There is even a local co-op mode for two."

A bit late for the news, but it's good to have it in this section anyways. Ate up the original SNES game in my youth (still have a go at it with emus, but it's nice to have it on the ds). This looks most excellent! What an info drought we had to go through before we got this news though! Last news was the unveiling back in 2007. Now we've got an official release date for the US! (and a few new screens to boot)

I think Urza was talking about this on IRC last night, which led me to start playing the original game on a SNES emulator with my DS as a wireless gamepad, really fun game. I definitely need to try this when its released.

Well it IS GBATemp. I owned the game several times during my childhood, but always ended up having to sell it for more important things.

I still have the original cart for Kirby Superstar. i LOVED that game, and i read about this the other night. I can't WAIT FOR IT!

Strangely, no. We actually received a US release date BEFORE a Japanese one (and on a Kirby game to boot).

From the info on the Nintendo page, it seems like multipack for the co-op adventure, and single pack for the minigames.

I had Kirby Super Star, but I think the battery or something is out of juice because my saves would always delete. Nowadays, we(my older brother and I) either play it on an emulator or pull out the old Nintendo and try to beat the game in one day. My favorite game, but I really with I knew where my Mario all stars went.

Scroll down to the editions part. They don't have a Europe date now. I really think they are just pulling this date out of their ass. The US date was officially confirmed via Nintendo press release, but not this.

I think there are some homebrew that allow the ds to become a wireless controller for the pc

Loved Kirby Superstar! Especially the co-op. I was waiting for a new Kirby co-op and I guess this answered my wishes.

If it had wifi co-op it would e complete but wireless co-op is a-OK with me.
