Ohshit. The board, CPU, and RAM are worth more than that.

It's things like this that sometimes make me wish I was American.
Then I think about your slowly slipping economy, and find myself to be a content Canadian.

Now if it didn't have the Phenom, it would be much better.

    wrong.

the phenoms are 4 K8 cpu's on one die. so its exactly the same performance scale as the X2 series, but more cores.
mulitthreaded applications, all intel cpu's will kill out an amd, but single threaded applications it will do better in some cases.

Did you bother looking at the benchmark chart?

Or read anything about the chips?

    They are K10.

It is a media center PC

    Also, http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.htm...2&chart=421
The 9500 beats the E6600, and the 9700 beats all but the top end E series.

Not the point. I'm not comparing the PC, I'm comparing the actual CPUs. And doesn't matter, the Core 2s > Phenoms. AMD made a disappointing product.

You said that it would be better without the phenoms, and being a media center PC whose primary use is video playback, that isn't true. Not only that, but if this proc is only $189. As cheap PC, it needs a cheap high performance proc
    http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.htm...2&chart=444
    Which the phenom is.
