Luma is recommended, it may work with Soundhax + Fasthax, but it's untested.

Step 1 - SD Card Setup

    1. Get Decrypt9 and extract the Decrypt9WIP.bin file to "sd:/luma/payloads" and rename it to x_Decrypt9WIP.bin,
    2. Put your .3ds/.cia backup into "sd:/files9". (Create it if not already there),
    3. You will need the following files: "seeddb.bin", "slot0x1BKeyX.bin", "slot0x05KeyY.bin", "slot0x11key96.bin", "slot0x18KeyX.bin", "slot0x25KeyX.bin". I CANNOT provide you these, they are copyright of Nintendo. If you have them, put them on your SD card's root. (Maybe google will help you? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
    Step 2 - .CIA Decryption

    1. Hold X when booting the 3DS and it will open Decrypt9,
    2. Go into "Content Decryptor Options" -> "CIA File Options" -> "CIA Decryptor (deep)". Choose the .cia file you want to decrypt.
    Step 2 - .3DS Decryption

    1. Hold X when booting the 3DS and it will open Decrypt9,
    2. Go into "Content Decryptor Options" -> "NCCH/NCSD File Options" -> "NCCH/NCSD Decryptor". Choose the .3ds file you want to decrypt.
    Step 3 - Extraction

    1. Once its finished, simply power off, put your SD into your PC, and put the .cia/.3ds file from "files9" to your Desktop,
    2. Open kit-kat, Go to Tab 4, Click Extract and choose the .3ds or .cia file,
    3. Now wait a while, Kit-Kat WILL freeze, don't constantly click it trying to make it respond, that will do nothing and will just crash it, simply wait.
    4. Eventually it will say Extracted to '{...}'! Finished!
Note: If you plan on rebuilding the extracted files, do not remove the "(.3ds)"/"(.cia)" from the folder name or it wont rebuild.
    Step 4 - Rebuilding

    1. Open kit-kat, Go to Tab 4, Click Rebuild and choose the folder containing the extracted files,
    2. Now wait a while, Kit-Kat WILL freeze, don't constantly click it trying to make it respond, that will do nothing and will just crash it, simply wait.
    3. Eventually it will say Rebuilt to '{...}'! Finished!
It will rebuild as a file called "Rebuilt.3ds" in the folder containing the extracted files.
