How to update to the latest jailbreak CFW-4.84

I have a PS3 CECH 2500 slim model installed with the CFW 4.84. AFAIK I havent touched it for 3 years and now the OFW is 4.88 so what's the best way to update to the current OFW and CFW without losing all my installed PKGS and save files?

You just have to download any 4.88 CFW and install it, it's recommended to use Evilnat's CFW on 4.88.

To install a CFW, download the .pup file and put it on an external USB drive as /PS3/Update/PS3UPDAT.PUP. Then plug the drive on your PS3 and select install from drive option

you can install ofw, but you won't be able to install a cfw over it unless you patch it with bguerville toolbox or something.

so I can't have both OFW and CFW updated to the latest firmware? Also which do I choose (NO BD)?

firmware is firmware. it's going to be official or custom. don't choose no-bd unless you have a nonworking disc drive. updates won't install if you do.
