I recently purchased a PSP with a 3.90 M33-3 custom firmware installed and am trying to update it to the latest custom firmware in order to ensure I am able to play the latest games and homebrew.

I would be very grateful if someone could suggest how I might go about this, or direct me to a guide.

    riiiiiiiiiiight there.
    Like, look up a bit.
    yeah, there, in the stickies.
You want to follow "How to softmod your (fully hackable) 200X"
Followed by "How to update your PSP to the latest custom firmware" for Fully hackable, ofc.

It already has custom firmware installed, so shouldn't I be able to skip the "How to softmod your (fully hackable) 200X" and go straight to the 'How to update your PSP to the latest custom firmware" section?

I'm not sure if 3.90 M33 can update right to a current. The instructions in the sticky make you end up on a 5.00 CFW, not a 3.90 CFW.

Yeah, but the sticky involves a bunch of softmodding stuff that I'm guessing isn't necessary when my PSP is already hacked and running some form of custom firmware?

The hacking is just to get homebrew to run in the first place, in the hacking section do the final CVFW installer step (since your current already runs custom).
