HBG only uses eShop dumps, which require one set of patches. Some of the games you installed previously were likely cartridge dumps, which require different patches. Your patches might be mismatched due to the installation of patches from HBG overwriting your previously existing patches, and/or your previously existing patches weren't correct for the HBG dumps. Regardless of what caused your problem, following my steps above exactly should fix your problem.

If your problem is not fixed, the problem could be your games are actually corrupt and/or a problem with your SD card.
Yeah I jsut got done following the guide. I am currently downloading something from HBG Shop to see if it worked.

Also, again I don't understand how the SD Card might have a problem, in my OP I said, this is happening on ALL 4 of my SD Cards that I use daily with my switch, and It is ALSO happening if I install a game/app to NAND with HBG Shop, not just SD Cards.

Okay so I just tried to install something super small so it would not take forever, and it worked. So now I am going to try to download/install one of the games that it WAS NOT working with earlier.

If this works, then THANK YOU SO MUCH!... seriously...

I see what you mean that I might have made a mistake or something, but I really don't think I did... because this is the 3rd time I followed this guide step by step, and I did everything the same. so idk....

That all depends on how you're copying your files to each SD card. For example, if you're copying files from one SD to another, corruption problems could also be copied over.

In summary, following my steps should very likely solve your problem. If it doesn't, the issue is likely corruption and/or bad SD card(s).

Nah I would never copy from one SD card to another. All 4 SD Cards I used, have had the games/apps installed through HBG Shop SEPERATELY.

But STILL... like I said, this is ALSO HAPPENING when I install to NAND from HBG Shop.

is it possible for the Switch's NAND to get corrupt?

Again, while unlikely, if you had copied bad files from one SD to another, that could have caused a problem.

I suppose, but I want to make it clear that I'm just spitballing highly unlikely causes to your issues. I believe the issue is a bad setup and/or bad signature patches. Also, you have enough free space, correct?

Okay so, following your guide, didn't work... basically idk.

I installed one game with HBG Shop with no updates or DLC and it worked fine

Then I installed a game WITH updates and DLC, and it did NOT work. It still shows a grey square on my home screen with a loading symbol, and it says it's corrupted...

By the way, this is installed to my NAND, not my SD Card.

Yes I have enough space, and like I said, I would not have copied any files from one SD to another.

Maybe I just HAVE TO update the firmware.

Do you know a game that I can try to install with HBG Shop that requires 8.0.1 FW or lower ?

Just so I can test it.

I also noticed that when downloading a game from HBG Shop, the button for "Ignore Firmware Check" is missing now. It was never missing until I updated HBG Shop yesterday morning. Come to htink of it, thats the ONLY thing that changed yesterday before this issue started happening... I forgot, I updated HBG Shop.

I would recommend updating to 9.1.0 at this point, since your problem might be that you're installing updates/DLC that require 9.x.

As I said earlier, 9.x is required for some newer games, with or without the "ignore Firmware Check" option.

Or even better, do you know of a game that required 8.0.1 or lower when it came out, but the newest update requires something HIGHER than 8.0.1?

So then I can install it WITHOUT the latest update, to see if it works, and then if it DOES WORK, then I can reinstall it but with the latest update included to see if it works again, then I will know FOR SURE if it's a FW issue.

Okay I will update to 9.0.1 then, thanks a bunch.

But either wya, do you know why the "Ignore Firmware Check" button is missing now? Is yours missing?

Also one more thing...

I don't know how to use AutoRCM...

I am trying to follow your steps for "You can update to 9.1.0 using ChoiDujourNX. The latest version of Atmosphere (0.10.1) fully supports 9.1.0.

If you don't want to burn your fuses, keep the AutoRCM option ticked. If you don't want to install AutoRCM, untick that option. If you use an exFAT SD card (not recommended), make sure you install the exFAT version of the 9.1.0 update."

But idk how to use AutoRCM and sorry but I am just so scared of messing my switch up trying to update the FW lol

9.1.0 is the latest version.

I will check mine later. Blawar has made a lot of dumb changes lately, so it's plausible that it's missing.
Alrighty thanks

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Yeha I meant 9.1.0 sorry

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

OH also, I don't use an EmuNAND, is that ok? Can I still update to 9.1.0 FW using ChoiDujoirNX ?

AutoRCM forces your Switch to autoboot RCM each time it's powered off and powered on. If you want to continue using a jig to enter RCM, disable the AutoRCM install. If you want your Switch to coldboot into RCM instead of Horizon, preserving your fuses and eliminating the need for a jig, keep the AutoRCM option on. If you choose to install AutoRCM, you should always leave your Switch in sleep mode and docked when you're not using it.

It's fine that you're not using emuNAND. In fact, it makes things simpler.

I honestly don't care about burning the fuses because I don't plan on going back to OFW.

Also, I usually leave my switch in Sleep mode Anyways. I am looking for a guide online for like 10 min now on how to use ChoiDujoirNX to update from 8.0.1 to 9.1.0

I will let you know if I find something and get it working.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How can I check which format my SD Card is? because in all honestly, I don't remember which format I used on my original SD card and thats the one I am using at the moment...

Edit: Nvm figured that part out

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Alright last thing I am gonna ask, I need to know if I need to use ChoiDujoirNX or just normal ChoiDujoir?

  1. Put ChoiDujourNX onto your SD card
  2. Put the 9.1.0 files onto your SD card
  3. Run ChoiDujourNX
  4. Install 9.1.0, choosing whether or not you want to install AutoRCM
As for your SD card, FAT32 is highly recommended, since exFAT can lead to corruption issues.

You need to use ChoiDujourNX.
