Are you talking about the unreleased hidden abilities i.e. gen 2 and 5 starters?

OK. Just so you know, most hidden abilities have been released (Chansey is one of them.) These are super easy to hack in since Nintendo's servers will not block them. In Pokegen, you can put the ability to Healer and then you have to go to where the Trainer ID info tab. At the bottom, you will see a thing for extra bytes. Make sure that it you put a 1 in the 0x42 slot. That is the hidden ability flag. These are readily played in gen 5 and can be uploaded to bank without problems.

Now for the unreleased HA's (you can find a list of them toward the end of the old closed Powersaves files or you can go to serebii.net to check), you will have to be a bit sneakier. The filters know that these abilities shouldn't be obtainable yet, so it blocks them. You can get them past bank by selecting the normal ability of the pokemon (ex. Overgrow for Snivey) and then go change the extra byte to 1. When the Bank sees it, it sees the ability of overgrow and lets it pass. However, once it is in game, the hidden ability flag changes it to the unreleased ability.

Finally, if you have Powersaves, you can easily skip all of this and just obtain the Pokemon using the Wondercard Modifier cheat. It will generate the hidden abilities of Pokemon (including the unreleased ones.) You just may have to soft reset a few times until the HA shows up.

As to why it is not crossing over through Bank, it could many issues. An invalid PID will kick it out fast. If you have illegal EV totals is another possible reason.

If you can't figure out what is going on and are looking for Chansey files, I suggest going to pokecheck and search for one. If their legality checker says things are legit, it usually passes (you can even upload your file to give you an idea what you are doing wrong.) It's not 100% correct all the time (you can get some Pokemon past hack checks even if pokecheck says that its illegal,) but it works the vast majority of the time.

I just check and the file passes bank without problems for me. I did have it redo the PID though just to be sure; however, the PID is the same.

Also, are attempting to alter the file in any way once you bring it into Pokegen? If so, you may be doing something to mess up the PID. Since I'm not there to watch what you are doing, have the program recalculate it and see if that fixes your problem.

Change the ability back to it's original ability, but leave the HA byte there.

It'll recalculate and give the HA upon successful transfer.

You may be adding too many EVs or adding a move that may be legit, but not possible for that pokemon to have. For example, placing a 4th gen only move tutor move on that pokemon would be impossible since that pokemon has it's origin as an egg from a gen 5 cart. Bank catches those illegal move pairings.

Sorry, but I really don't have the time right now. You can try on numerous trade boards on reddit or gamefaqs for that kind of service.

However, if you remove seismic toss, that should fix your problem. I think that you are looking at the gen 6 move list for chansey where it can learn that move as an egg move. The problem is that in gen 5 (which this pkm file was hatched in), seismic toss was a gen 3 only move tutor move for chansey. That is most likely why it is getting kicked out. You need to look at the old gen 5 move lists instead of this gen when hacking things in.

You can get it past if you hack it properly, but you are going to have to change the origin game, etc.

You aren't the original owner of that Pokecheck mon, are you? Because if you aren't, Pokecheck adds a ribbon to indicate the cloned status of that Pokemon. I bet that would flummox the bank.

Speaking of which, is there a website/application in which you can punch in combinations of moves/abilities and have an output that tells you if said combination would be gen-6-legitimate or not?

Ribbons wouldn't matter since the only way to import some Bank legendaries are by importing events with the event ribbon (and I also successfully imported that file into bank without major edits to just check it out in case something esoteric was screwing things up.)

You can either upload your pkm file to pokecheck and use their legality checker (which is pretty accurate but not 100%, but close to it) or you can use a site (or book) with last gen's move Dex.

Overall, the hack checks are not that stringent, but they are a big leap forward to what they used to have.

Except has there been a Chansey with that ribbon released? You could very well be right, I just wanted to cover the bases.

It doesn't matter. As long as it's on the cart and has no blatant hack flags (i.e. wondertomb or a snivy with flamethrower, etc,) it will cross over. The only pokemon that I can think of right off the top of my head that has ever been locked to a cart is the Spiky Eared Pichu in SS/HG. That is most likely due to the fact that it's sprite only exists on those carts.

I actually downloaded and imported that file he linked to earlier to make sure that there wasn't something esoteric going on and to also see the file in Pokegen myself. The reason why he is most likely having trouble though is because he is altering the file. The hack checker is kind of picky about the move tutor moves and is a common area where people have hangups on.

Edit: Another common area of hangups are the people trying to import certain gen 4 events off places like pokecheck that were inserted as gen 5 files. Surfing pikachu is a BIG offender. While it was a valid gen 4 event, it couldn't be transferred from 4 to 5 unless you deleted that move. They never released a gen 5 surfing pikachu, so that is why the hack checks block it.

    Wow... Nintendo, that's just lazy.

According to Bulbapedia, only a couple of events ever got the Premier Ribbon before Gen VI. But yeah, others have gotten mons with illegal ribbons through the bank.

I guess the seismic toss is the most likely issue then.

That move is the most likely cause.

When people are making edits, the most common mistake that I see is that they are putting move sets that may be legal in gen 6, but were impossible to get in gen 5 legally depending on how all of the origin stats of the pokemon are set. This just highlights one of those instances where moved dexes changed from gen to gen.
