When you play Pokemon D/P you can battle another trainer either via wireless or WiFi.

Wireless is okay, but there are rules that WiFi supports that wireless doesn't, like level limits, etc...

I have a laptop, the Nintendo USB WiFi Connector and a wireless router.

Can I use the Nintendo dongle on my laptop to create an ad-hoc local WiFi "service" that can support battles over WiFi?

If I can't do it with the Nintendo dongle, can I do it with my wireless router?

If I can, how would I configure it to work?

TIA

Okay, I guess I wasn't clear enough.

I want to use my laptop, without the laptop being connected to the internet, to be the "host" for WFC connections between DS's.

I want to use the WFC because it supports more battle options and rules than wireless does (like level limits, etc...)

When I try to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector it won't even install without the computer being connected to the internet.

Okay, so anyone? Bueller?

thanks!

The WFC service can only be operated by Nintendo. So... no.

Aha... and there's the answer I needed. But not the one I wanted!

Onward...
