Hacking How to restore n3DS to the original state?

Hi All,

Guys, need your help. I have N3DS 9.0 Majora's Mask Edition + latest Gateway (emuNAND 10.7).
Two questions:

1) I've installed a lot of different "hax" on my n3DS, all these FBI, MSET, AGB_FIRM, CFW etc. and the thing is... now I even don't remember what exactly CFW I've installed. 3DS work fine but I think it'll be better to start from scratch. Please advise how to safely restore n3DS to it's original non-hacked state, just want to start over and log an each step this time.
Will it be enough to simply "1.Go to system memory and 2.Format System Memory?". Also I have backup of NAND.bin maybe it'll be better to restore the NAND?

2) Somehow I've removed legit pre-installed The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D, how to restore it?

1) all you need to do is update to latest firmware then just delete any homebrew cias you may have installed.

2) Just (before you update) reinstall the legit cia using fbi/nasa/devmenu/gaypornodownloader.

Yes it will be enough formatting system memory. (you have to remove AGB_FIRM in FBI though) it wont effect system being there anyhow so dont bother (MSET you have to restore aswell with the original file)

2: run homebrew and Fbi after you have wiped and install the *Legit Cia* version of Majoras Mask it will stay on home menu and run without homebrew installed

he wants to start from scratch if he updates to latest downgrading is more of a pain.

He could jsut use Sysupdater and upgrade to 9.2 from 9.0

So Yeah OP just format system dont worry about Mset or AGB_firm you can start from scratch like that fine

Also could you please advise CFW for n3DS, only to play GBA and DSi, that will be working correctly with Gateway. I think about ReiNAND or is there any better/stable/easy option?

AuReiNAND is a fork of ReiNAND by Aurora Wright that is more actively developed.

And another question.

Why the Gateway red card wants an update EACH time when I boot to gateway menu? I've updated the red card just minutes ago and still next time it offer an update. Should I remove something from SD card?

It has already been said. Just use sysupdater with the "iso site" 9.2 .zip files. In sysupdater press downgrade. When it is done, press update. (This is done to make sure everything is 9.2)

well he is on 9.0 the best way would be to just sysupdater to 9.2 which would clear everything but keep him on Hax level firmware.

The safest Way would just to format System and Keeb Mset and Agb_firm as they have no real impact.

OP obviously has OCD so even if dg mset and patched agb has "little impact", he still doesn't want it.

Unfortunately, if you have installed any cia's, you're ticket.db will be permantly affected.
