So I'll get to the point: I dropped my 3ds the other day and it instead of loading my Darth Vader theme, it loaded a default theme I had (zelda) with no games and I've tried resetting the device 100 times but no luck. It could be a faulty SD card. I am using menuhax btw. Please help.

If you are booted into the Emunand, then, I guess SD card isn't faulty..

Well I'm new to this whole thing. What should I do? All my apps like CHMM2 and other stuff and my games are gone. I do have a backup folder on my computer

I guess, you should delete all contents of your sd card not format and copy back the backup..

So after backing it all up, instead of changing to my theme, it started up like it was never hacked at all...

After installing menuhax, will the backup stuff work? Should I backup then install menuhax or install menuhax then backup

    Um.... Follow the following steps:-

    1. Copy the contents of the backup to your SD card.
    2. Install Menuhax.

Am I installing ONLY menuhax? There's no need for homebrew?

I mean custom firmware (CFW), which one were you using RxTools, CakesFW etc..
Follow a Menuhax guide and install the one for your respective CFW so that it can directly boot into Emunand..

    WAIT!!!
Did you changed themes manually from the system menu? Also do you see Menuhax boot screen when you turn on your 3ds?

    Sorry, I was using ReiNand

I did NOT try to change themes from the system menu. I'm still unsure of what this menuhax thing is but homebrew would not open nor was there an app to launch it. Before the backup you could see apps like FBI and menuhax manager but after the backup it shows like a DS you buy fresh with no custom apps

Okay, Now do the following in Exact order:-

    1. Copy the backup of your SD card back to your SD Card.
    2. Follow a guide to install Menuhax.
    3. Replace the Menuhax file with the one that is found in the Reinand.
    4. Profit! If you did it correctly, when you will turn on your 3ds, you will be in the menuhax and which will inturn boot you to the Emunand.

Will installing menuhax require me to install homebrew again?

    behind a parental advisory sticker
so if you dropped your system resulting in corrupting your sd card you need to install cfw all over again (unless you previously made a emunand backup) . . .

Nope, just use Browserhax to access homebrew, then use Menuhax manager in the Homebrew to install Menuhax!

Well I am unable to install menuhax because I don't have homebrew. Is this to the point where I should start all over?

Homebrew does not start up at all even when holding the L button. This is AFTER the backup which had homebrew
