You don´t patch it yourself the cIOS Installer does it for you if you don´t have the needed (original) wad the installer can even download it for you

Wait so you want to make a own patched IOS like in cioscrap !?
If that´s the case you need to program it yourself at least to put the DIP module in it (there are more as enough examples for it but i don´t recommend to do this).
Anyway for what do you even want that ?

Hi yes this is what i want to do, can you point me to examples of it i have so far been unsuccessful in my searches. the reason i want to do it is, for instance when GH5 came out, i couldn't play it until someone patched the IOS56.WAD from the game with Rev14 dip and restored trucha bug, i can do this myself with any new games coming out, gives me a bit more control over my cioscorp :-) and saves me waiting/ relying on others LOL

da_letter_a would have been the better choice for a PM as he definatively knows how to do what you want.

I could only look if the dip module is on nand in the IOS249 folder, put it into the .wad manually and apply the trucha patch i use in TBR to the ES module of the IOS. That would be a "little" complicated way to do it and i assume there's a much easier way.

Do what CasperH said: Try and find out.

Worst that happens is that things that use the modified IOS stop working until you install a good IOS.

You won't brick assuming you're not messing with the system menu IOS (you shouldn't be...). Bootmii boot2 would be a good idea if you can install it.

Anyway, if you figure it out, can you post instructions? Also would anyone have a list of where each module is located in an IOS? Or is it different per-IOS? The only thing i have noticed is that Free the bug pretty much always patches 00000007.app (which I assume is where sig-checking takes place).

from what i have found anything that need done regarding the REV dip module is done via the 00000001.APP, and as for the free the bug.bat, im not sure if its 00000007.APP, ill take your word for it, but its not important as you know this is automated anyway using the bat file.

I can't say 00000007.app is the file that needs the Trucha bug in your case. It might be different depending on the IOS being modified, but #7 seems to be most common (at least when I use FTB).

If the DIP is #1 and ES (security module) is #7, then what are the other ones?

Good luck. Glad to see you seem to have something going with 1.app. Let me know how it goes if you hear from da_letter_a.
