like @Hunter already said, you're going to need a GB(C) flashcard. The easiest to find is the Everdrive GB X3/5/7, available here:

though, they are a bit pricey. You can also try to find and older Everdrive GB (without the X moniker), they might be cheaper used.

EDIT: Sometimes you can find flashcards at BennVenns shop as well, they usualy are a bit cheaper (that's why they are called "El-Cheap-O"):

thanks @Hunter and @Localhorst86, I will get one of those then someday I guess. I hoped there was some way to connect without buyin gbc flash cards
If you want to link up two GBC ROMs, you're going to need 2 GBC flashcards. Just FYI.

EDIT: I also recall there being emulators on PC with link cable support. You could, obviously also use these for linking two roms up on the same PC, but I never tried it. I don't know how reliably it'll work:
