Compare the title ID against ones on http://3ds.essh.co
You can just search for the game name there, but the title ID format is a little different. In BigBlueMenu the title ID will be something like 00377c00 (it always ends with a 00), whereas on essh it will be 000400000000377c (so the last two digits are removed, actually they're moved to before the 377c)
The title ID is the number in the list on the bottom screen, and also somewhere on the top screen I think.
If the game didn't have a scene release (or if it's not a game at all) then there's no list you can search.
I don't think there's a homebrew that can display the title but there's no reason that functionality wouldn't be possible to add to for example FBI, I suspect the only reason it hasn't been done yet is because the title is stored in the banner inside the encrypted ExeFS and therefore it's a lot more work than just making a basic CIA installer.

I'm pretty sure it displays the name on the top of bigbluemenu as you are about to install it. The titleID, not the .CIA name. If you're worried about deleting the wrong one, you can always just write them down as you install them, like a list.

You can use both Big Red Menu or Sunshell CIA Manager for this purpose.

I read a similar thing in a different topic, do they actually display the title of the game? Got a screenshot? :P
I would switch to either of those instantly if it works the way it sounds.

Ooh, pretty. I thought Sunshell was just a scripting engine, didn't think it had a good CIA manager. Will have to try that out, as long as it's easy to install.

lpp-3ds is a "script engine" (it's called LUA interpreter). Sunshell is the first shell for 3DS.

You can press A using Title Manager or whatever to launch the application, then you'll know "hey, this title ending in DBDB is for 3D Dragonball GT Dodgeball 64" (or whatever)

I had this same problem, I used the 3ds' software management to delete unwanted .cia files.
