Hello everyone,

I just bought a N3DS XL last friday and I was wondering are there any accessories that keep the circle pad not worn out. I have my old 3ds xl and it's circle pad is really worn out. I would like to play smash 3ds on it but im afraid that I will kill the circle pad... :O

The best advice is just to take it easy with the circle pad. Try to clean your hands before using it, if possible. Really, if you're into competitive Smash 4, the Wii U has much better analogue stick options available, so don't go crazy with the circle pad. Maybe try to use the c-stick for smash attacks more often.

yeah I have my wii u but it's back at home. I enjoy smash on the 3ds as much as I do on the wii u. I just like the portability of the 3ds xl. there's no mod or something to ensure that the circle pad feels like a factory day 1 3ds?

possibly, depends on how much height it would add to the circle pad, it might end up causing damage to the 3DS if it prevents it from shutting properly, i guess it must fit if they have stuck a "NEW 3DS, NEW 3DS XL" sticker on it....at worst you could probably just pop it on before playing and take it off before you pack it away

It may help with grip and keeping it clean, but it won't protect the pad from excessive force.
well it would help with the rubber waring down on the pad, but i have seen several consoles where the rubber has just been ripped off the pad rather than worn down....not sure if that could even contribute to something like that happening instead of just wearing it down

oh well if all else fails

I heard the replacement job isn't too hard anyways :P Anyway, the problem you described (with the circle pad falling off) is the most common issue, and there's no real way to circumvent that.

Best advice would be not to use it, that should make it always in good condition. :P

In all seriousness though, things get worn out if it's used over and over again.
Aaaaaaaaand that is good because you're using it for its purpose.
So, don't be afraid to use stuff as long as it is within the bounds of its function.

I hope you're not using it to hammer a nail. hahaha. j/k.

There is a mod to keep it pristine, but it involves soldering a chip to allow you to use a gamecube controller on your 3ds. It also causes a ribbon cable to be exposed through the shell of the 3ds though lol.

Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.

    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore

    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant

an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
