How would I go about installing the rxTools MSET hack ona 4.xx 3ds, without updating the console. I currently have pasta installed on MSET. IS there a newer cfw that works better then Rxtools? It's been awile since I used my 3ds and am out of date on current info. If so I need it to be able to install cia's

Thanks, Myth

Just use the installer file for RXTools with your DS cart and set it up normally.

Luma3DS is the best CFW you will ever use. Time to ditch the MSET exploit, and either install menuhax or arm9loaderhax.

First of all, staying on 4.XX isn't helping you. At the very least, update to 9.2. At that point, you can setup menuhax to boot CFW (Use Luma3DS), or you can go through the process of installing A9LH (You'll still end up using Luma3DS). But seriously, 4.XX hasn't been relevant for a long time.

He is in 4.xx so if he wants to use MenuHax or A9HL he need to update to 9.2 first, update to 9.2 and use the method of your preference then in 9.2

Do you know of any expolite websites that could trigger the MSET expolite?
Which version of rxTools are you using? Does it use rxTools.dat or code.bin?

Here are some launcher links that should work, depending on which version of rxTools you are using:
https://dukesrg.github.io/?rxTools/sys/code.bin
http://www.reboot.ms/3ds/load.html?rxTools.dat

Edit: The currently active fork of rxTools can be found here: https://github.com/dukesrg/rxTools. It has instructions on how to use it with MSET with either a DS flashcart or browser.

Don't feel like you have to update just because everyone else says to. Start with what you know. Research what has changed since the last time you checked the scene. Move forward only when you want to and have the knowledge to do so without screwing up your current setup.

One thing that you'll need to do before updating is backing up all of your save data. I would recommend using JKSM, as it's more user-friendly than SDF. Part 5 of this guide will explain why you'd need to backup your saves. http://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-the-emunand-save-data-mega-guide-gbatemp-doesnt-deserve.378491/

Click the link I gave you to the current rxTools. It'll tell you what files you need and what website to go to in the 3ds browser. Try "Initialize Save Data" in the browser if you're having issues.

Edit: Downloads would be found at https://github.com/dukesrg/rxTools/releases

Tough this site also can help you if you need to launch RXTools trough the 3DS Browser, but I though it didn"t install the MSET, but can be useful if need to launch from Internet some time:
http://www.reboot.ms/3ds/
Remeber to don"t use a DS cartdrige, or change the date, name or country, etc; because you have to reinstall the MSET exploit if you do that.
