So simple and easy... Are the games that you install on SX OS playable on OFW?

No? What happens if you try and run them?

A ban probably. But you need sigpatching which OFW doesn't have

SX OS removes the signed checks that allow these to install and play... If you tried to run it from stock firmware... Prolly just pop up an error code and not start lol

God fucking damnit. Ruins the whole purpose of a .nsp installer..
Is there a way to apply sigpatching to ofw?

If you apply sigpatching to OFW, its no longer an OFW...

I guess so, but the system always boots up to it! Modifying it could eliminate the need to ever use RCM mode to play pirated games. (if that's even possible)

That would require the proper keys to sign the firmware as the Switch will only boot things that are signed by Nintendo. The only reason we can load CFWs is because the bootrom exploit treats certain code as properly signed after causing a smash stack.

Keys like the 80 keys currently discovered or something else?

Keys that Nintendo use to sign the software. Those keys decrypt software; they have a different use. Not sure what would be the better terminology here, but you basically need Nintendo's authorization/permission to make software look authentic to the Switch. What those are called range from keys to credentials to many things, but they would take unreasonably long to brute force and would harbor legal trouble if leaked hence why these are usually never discovered.

So, basically, no .nsp games or anything else on OFW.

Nintendo really outdid themselves on security this time.

I believe this type of security has been implemented since the Wii U. None of these consoles have had their keys leaked yet either. Its also why nothing past 3.55 was hackable for the PS3 for a long time. This is why homebrew is designated as homebrew and can only be run on hacked consoles, not on unmodified ones.

Idk, the fact that any game loaded can be updated without being able to currently launch it is definitely a big oversight that many SX OS users are taking advantage of.

Alright, I'm losing my goddamn mind, does any game other than Pokemon Quest work as a donor for DevMenu? My Switch is banned and I don't have any way to redownload Pokemon Quest unfortunately, and neither the Octopath demo or Picross S seem to work.

(Unless you didn't have that game before you got banned D: in that case your game wont run)
