Hacking How to install A9HL with 3ds firmware with 4.2

Long story short, I have a 3ds with firmware of 4.2. I have access to the gateway and lbue card to get into gateway menu. What shoukld be my first step? install firmeware 9.2?

ok I try to run http://www.reboot.ms/3ds/load.html?Launcher.dat on my 3ds but the web brower keep on kicking me out saying there is an error

follow the tutorial to install cakes firmware. there will be a portion where u can install 9.2 via an exploit. I had a system with 6.x firmware, and that's what I had to do. the above tutorial assumes ur on firmware above 9.2. follow the tutorial once u can upgrade to that.

Try clearing all data from the browser and try again

i used a different sd card and now it si working

Right now i am done with the injection and backing up the sysnand. However as I read aboutt o this part.

If you get a database error, it is because you have never accessed the eShop before. To fix this, you will need to insert your SD card into your computer, then open the Nintendo 3DS folder. From here you will need to go into the first ID folder, then the second ID folder. The IDs will have random looking names. Now go to the dbs folder and create two empty files called title.db and import.db in this folder. Insert your SD card back into your 3DS then go to Settings > 3DS > Software. The system will tell you the database needs to be rebuilt. Allow it to do this, then redo steps 9 through 17.

My system has never eshop before. Does that mean i have to redo 9-17 and then proceed to 34?

Keep trying, Browserhax isn't always reliable.

No, but it can probably help.
It's just luck really. Sometimes it works on the first try, something it works on the 25th time.

Putting boot.3dsx on the root of the sd card fixes this if you haven't already, fixed it for me anyway.

OK, I got to the point of part iv of the guide. If my 3ds have no game save at all do I need to do:

You can skip this step. You don't even need the Homebrew Launcher.cia installed, as Menuhax takes care of any homebrew entry needed throughout the guide (when my SysNand was on 2.1 I just needed to remove the SD to boot. then I put it back in the system, dumped my OTP, restored my 9.2 backup, and Menuhax was there for me to immediately install A9LH...

And from there I went on to maliciously destroy my current theme files and my Menuhax payload. Fear me Menuhax Peasants Muahahahaha. ha.
