Partiton tool won't allow me to mark emmunand as active. Going to wipe everything and start over.
Follow step by step. Makenit a hidden partition.

I realized nxnandmanager needs keys. Use lockpick to get them. Or download them. Put them with nxnandmanager. Then in options tell nxnand manager where to find them.

Ill add to the tut when I get time

You’re right, missed this part 🙄
Good hint mate 👍

Just in the tutorial change : To minimize the impact it has on your HDD and keep your HDD
SD and keep your HDD

Hey! I tried to follow your guide and first I installed hidden emunand with sxos, but when i try to make a backup wit nxnandmanager it says error while copying. Then I tried with non-hidden emunand files so i could resize it but it also gives me the same error. I also tried emutool, but if i try to resize it or anything it says error while copying. I have the good prod.keys etc and im kinda stumped on what to do. Would you know what to do?

what does the error say. When you import the keys does it populate?

I'll answer the questions in this comment!
The keys give no error they load without a problem, i got those with lockpick. I made a hidden emunand with SXOS. But once i try to copy or resize it or anything it says "Error while copying" and closes without a warning or errorcode and i'm not sure what I did wrong

Ok, So I will throw some guesses. Troubleshooting is difficult through forum posts. If you want to go to a real chat and i'll work on it with you feel free to PM me. Otherwise try a different SD reader, Is the tool in it's own directory on the root of C:\? Try that. Try making sure other drives aren't plugged in as well. The tools are picky. They are hombrew after all. Is your SD FAT32? Are you selecting the right drive?

How are you initiating the backup.. there is a couple ways in the NXNANDMANAGER. Just press the big full backup button..

Thanks so much for the guide!! I've finally got everything working :) Here are some few clarifications that I found during setting up

1. keys.txt (or prod.keys) needs to be extract from your own console! I tried using a different one and got "BAD CRYPTO!" in NxNandManager
2. Make sure you have plenty of spaces in your working directory. I only had 20GB left in my C drive, and the NxNandManager needs over 30GB. I tried to point the target to the external HDD but the copy didn't work.
3. If you chose to resize the SX OS Emunand (highly recommended), DO NOT SKIP the step that reapply the resized Emunand into your SD card! This will prepare the SD card for the next step.
4. exFat works fine, but in order to resize, you'll need to format the partition into FAT32 first, and reformat again back to exFat afterward

1. It's possible to use keys from the web if they match the SYS menu. Just use your own, no gussing games.

2. You need 32 GB in general just to backup the NAND. Another 32GB for each one you copy. I will add a passage about free space, I thought that was a no brainer.

3. DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING UNLESS IT SAYS TO.

4.DO NOT USE EXFAT. The Nintendo ExFAT driver has a known flaw. You WILL LOSE DATA EVENTUALLY. Please do not tell people it's okay. It's not. Any OG who knows what they are doing will tell you the same. I don't want you confusing the issue so I have pissed off people too lazy to reformat. Please fix yours too.

NEVER USE ExFAT on the SWITCH!!! EVER!

So I followed all the steps, and when i get to the step to get the atmos emummc files back on the sd, i see 2 partitions. Which one do i choose for the atmos files?

*EDIT*
I put it on partition 1, since the file is too big to be put on the other partition. However now if I try to acces the SD card it says this

So after installing it to the partition, i formatted my fat32 partition on the sd again and then I could see the partition on my pc and put my sxos/atmosphere/hekate files in there. However, after booting to hekate, my pc cant read the sd card anymore. Hekate also is not able to use usb connection so i can't acces the sd card anymore. I can however launch payloads and boot into cfw
*LAST EDIT*
So, after restarting the pc and plugging everything back in I now have a working dual emulator on my sd card! I appreciate it so much! Only thing i'm dreading, is that I need to do it again once my new SD :P

Last question, if I install games on atmosphere, can I play it on the sxos too? Or sxos is only for xci streaming and installations are done on the atmosphere EMUnand. Thankyou again!

You should have one partition that is accessible, and one that is not (because the Switch FS is encrypted)

Try opening DIsk Management and manually assigning a drive letter to the first partition of the SD card. Remove the drive letter of the second partition if it has one, it'll only cause confusion.
Edit: Nevermind

You don't need to do anything again when you get a new SD. You can clone the entire card with a tool like EASEUS (make sure to pick sector based clone, it won't copy the emuNAND if you pick file based clone) and then extend the FAT32 partition to fill the available space.

This method will make 2 unreadable partitions. One at the beginning (SxOS)one at the end (atmo) with a FAT32 partition in between.

There are no letters until the "Fix Raw" operation.

Cloning the SD is an option to copy or migrate. I did it in the past.

@BakedDean post your minitool screen and i will take a look.

Not with two emunands, as tickets are installed to the respective ones.
But homebrews and sysmodules will be run from one CFW or another.
Previously installed games could work (if not installed with SX installer) assuming you didn’t shrink the Sxos emunand, as this operation wipe the user partition.
