Hacking How to get Earthworm Jim & similar games to run?

So I noticed after downloading and installing Earthworm Jim (DSiWare) from the eShop (using FreeShop) and trying to play it, it just crashes the entire system.
How do I fix this? Can someone link me to a guide or explain what I'm doing wrong?
Earthworm Jim is one of my favorite games.
