So basically, I bought this wii-u from my friend, he said he bricked the v-wii by installing d2x-v6 instead of using the custom v-wii version. The v-wii menu boots fine, but when I try to go back to the Wii-U menu, it hangs at a black screen, and if I try to re-run the hax via Return of the Jodi, it hangs at the Boot-Mii scam warning (the press 1 the continue doesn't show up). The worst part, when I try to update my Wii-U firmware to the newest version, I get the error code (162 3006) once it's installing the update. Am I completely screwed? Will there ever be hope or will this wii u only be good for playing discs?

Does HBC work? If so you just need to get to a WAD manager and update the cIOS to the vWii version.

Please stick to one thread.

Redo your SysCheck with the latest version 2.4.0(as of May 19,2016)
http://www.hacksden.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=149

Post your Wii U firmware version. Again, Wii U NOT vWii firmware version.

If your Wii U version is truly:
Wii-U Firmware is 5.1.2U

Then part of your problem(assuming this is a NA region Wii U) is that you have a newer SysMenu than you should have for 5.1.2.
https://yls8.mtheall.com/ninupdates/titlelist.php?date=09-29-14_08-05-09&sys=wupv&reg=E

You should be on v545(Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT delete your SysMenu)

Hang on you have other errors like:
IOS37 (rev 5662) is a Wii iOS not a correct vWii iOS
IOS56 (rev 5661) is a Wii iOS not a correct vWii iOS
IOS57 (rev 5918) is a Wii iOS not a correct vWii iOS
IOS58 (rev 6175) is a Wii iOS not a correct vWii iOS

There is a POSSIBILITY that IOS59 is wrong because (I believe) Wii and vWii IOS59 share the same version numbers.

All of this is assuming that there aren't huge bugs in the SysCheck version you are using but @JoostinOnline might be able to answer bug question and why you can not run newest SysCheck.

You can verify the incorrect Wii IOS by searching
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/NUS_Downloader/database

I'm confused, not sure what I should do.
I updated my OP
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-fix-this-weird-vwii-brick.427233/#post-6364833

You have at least 6 errors and we do not even know if you are able to write to the nand. You may not have a working full access exploit.
To recap:
SysMenu appears to be wrong version for your 5.1.2 version Wii U.

IOS249[56] (rev 21006, Info: d2x-v6): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0 is wrong but PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS.

In fact, do NOT delete any IOS(or cIOS) or SysMenu unless explicitly told to do so.

Do you have a Wii? Do you give a crap whether the vWii is working or not?

I have a Wii, I really don't care if my vWii won't work, as long as I can update my WiiU and go online.

2 things you can try to get SysCheck 2.4.0 working:
1) remove from meta.xml :
<no_ios_reload/>
^ removing this should disable AHBPROT (if it is even working on your vWii)

2) remove and replace from meta.xml :
<arg>--skipIOS=0</arg>
with:
<arg>--skipIOS=37</arg>
<arg>--skipIOS=56</arg>
<arg>--skipIOS=57</arg>
<arg>--skipIOS=58</arg>
<arg>--skipIOS=59</arg>
<arg>--skipIOS=249</arg>

If option 1 works, you may not have to do option 2.
If option 1 and option 2 work together, then you can try to add back what you deleted in option 1.(<no_ios_reload/>)
Whether option 2 works without option 1 or not, try deleting 1 skipIOS line per try(attempt) starting with (<arg>--skipIOS=249</arg>) and working up to IOS37.
Anytime it does not work, re add the deleted (<arg>--skipIOS=xx</arg>) back in and try the next one above that.

Alright, bought to try this, also, not sure if this matters, but to boot homebrew apps, I've been loading http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Homebrew_Launcher with Return of the Jodi, since I can't access the regular homebrew.

I was assuming you were using Homebrew_Launcher since HBC was not working.
Also, I'm assuming you backed up IOS37 when HBC was still working.
Did you backup the entire NAND with keys or just random IOS and files?

I wonder if you had smash bros if you would have sd card access on vWii?

You can check this to see if there are any libraries in canada that have a copy(should be about 8 different libraries)
https://www.worldcat.org/search?q=super+smash+brothers&dblist=638&fq=ap:"nintendo+of+america+inc"&qt=facet_ap:

How did you write your most recent IOS37 to NAND?

Oh and since the SysCheck 2.4.0 worked, did you notice anything different in the output?

I backed up all my every one of my IOS wad files before I started installing d2x cios. I don't have my NAND and keys, I'm not sure what you mean how I writ my most recent IOS37 to my NAND. I don't care if I have to brick my vWii to update my Wii-U. as long as my Wii-U works, I'm happy.

Alright paint me a better picture than I already have.
Do you know what was done to your Wii U/vWii before you got it?
And then try and list everything you did to it in as close to the original order as possible.

Alright, my friend tried to mod the vWii to play backups, but he messed up and used d2x cios v6 instead of the custom v10 for the vWii, after that he said that 1. The homebrew wouldn't load, when he would try to return to the wii U menu from the vWii there is just a black screen and whenever the bootmii is loaded, it freezes at the agreement. The only thing I've tried to do to fix it is system format the Wii U, but that didn't work.
He used this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/

So at some point he installed HBC then he installed just d2x cios v6?
Did he delete HBC?
When did the wii IOS versions get installed?
When did you lose HBC?
Was it after you backed up all of your vIOS?
When did you lose the ability to write to NAND or use SD card?

Yes, he installed d2x cios v6 in the homebrew.
He deleted HBC after everything stopped working after the d2x cios v6 installation
I'm not sure when the wii ios versions were installed.
I backed up by vIOS wads before I did anything.
I lost my ability to write to NAND and use SD card AFTER the d2x cios v6 installation
