Dude, the image is bigger than the amount of data that is going to be on the disc. Just load it up in the burning program as an image and you should be fine.

But I would suggest burning with imgburn at 2x speed
thats all I could ever do to get my +rw's to work
but its best to use +r's

Umm.. not entirely sure what's going on with you but...

-Only DVD-R's work if you softmod
-All wii ISOs are 4.37GB, excluding a couple, because they're dual layer discs, meaning twice the size.

Just saying, cause i'm not sure you got it from the other people.
DVD+R definitifly work with Softmod. I burned nearly all my games on Sony DVD+R because the shop didn't had Sony DVD-R and all my games work (using DIP7 patch in the IOSes).

I agree, I've a few backups on +R discs, boot absolutely fine. I imagine it's down to media quality as opposed to -/+...

forgive me if I missed somethign, but it does not sound like you are using Img Burn to try and burn your games. If you're not using Img Burn to burn your Wii games, then use it and you won't have any problems.

It's free, so there's absolutely no reason to use anything else

Wii ISO size: 4.37GB
Wii ISO size in bytes: 4699979776bytes

DVD-R Disk Size: 4.37GB(not 4.7GB)
DVD-R Disk Size in bytes: 4699979776bytes

I burned two failed copies with ImgBurn, so I don't recommend it. Others have gotten it to work well, but I use Ashampoo. My friend also uses Ashampoo, and we have had no problems. I'm not planning on trying ImgBurn again.
So... I recommend you use Ashampoo 2009. If you need a link to the full version, PM me.

Not to burst your flame (LMFAO) *aherm* ... but Only DVD-R are the most reliable. +RW works for some users with softmod

Burn with Ashampoo at Max speed. That works fine for me =)
I have over 30+ Wii games and none of them have failed due to burning speed, only due to non-working Region Patching and using ImgBurn.
And PM me if you need Ashampoo. =)
I have a serial.

Many drives and burning programs work different and give you different info about your disc. There's nothing noobish about it. Though I can see how the title of the thread is pretty weird.

Should I burn at a slower speed? I was thinking 2.4x. MAX seems kind of high for me.

Did you buy a new burner? Cause if you're still using that Philips DVD+RW-D01... 2.4x is your max.

I see there's some confusion about sizes...

Some applications/vendors consider 1 gb as 1000 mb and others 1 gb as 1024 mb (and this is the correct one).

Let's do some maths:

Discs have 4,37gb. If we convert this value to bytes (GB -> MB -> KB -> B, 1024 * 1024 * 1024) we get ~4692251770. Niw if we consider 1 gb as 1000mb, and we convert the previous value from bytes to gigabytes we get ~4,7gb.

Wii ISOs shouldn't be bigger than a DVD disc. Anyway, discs don't have 4,37gb exactly, they always have more capacity (~4,38gb...) so the game should be burnable...
Some applications won't let you burn the ISO but many will (in the case of Nero, if I'm not wrong, you have to enable overburn support).

Wow, what a boring post I just wrote...

Maths by Waninkoko!!

Well, no use, I burned the image using Ashampoo and I get a DVD Error 349.

Before, I got the preview title in the Disc Channel and got the green screen when I'd try to start it, the disc would still be spinning. Now it just doesn't read it.

I've about give up on +RW and I have no -R burner.
