So what I would like to do is basically something like this:

Basically I would like to just take trainers like red or blue and edit those textures to where I can create a new character that isn't in the game.
I have been searching all over but can only seem to find tutorials on how to edit the pokemon textures which I have been able to do fine. However, what I been trying to do for awhile now is edit trainers/NPC battle models which from what I have looked up it seems the trainer textures are located in a/1/9/6 but whenever I open any of the bin files in there all I get is "Unsupported File Format" in Ohana3DS. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if these are the wrong types of trainer files I am trying to open?
