Hacking How to check N3DS is 9.2??? (UK STOCK)

Does anyone know how I can check to make sure that my N3DS is 9.2 and below before making the purchase?

BEFORE is impossible, unless you are buying it from someone, then you can ask him to check

Does this mean it doesn't matter at all? I can just grab any random brand new n3ds and just downgrade it?

Yes, however Firmwares above 10.5 are a bit harder to downgrade.

But then again, its rare and almost impossible that a brand new n3ds is >10.5 I'm assuming. So long as I don't mess up and update to 10.7 it''ll be fine?

My brother bought the golden limited edition Zelda N3DS a couple weeks ago and it came with 9.8(9?) if that's any help. They seem to ship with the bare minimum necessary for playing the majority of games.
