I have an iPod Touch and I use the schools Wifi on it. I recently cracked my schools Wifi settings and all, I also had to put in the schools proxy so it will work. But on my iPod touch when I go on websites such as GBAtemp, Youtube it says this website is blocked by websence. How the hell do I unblock these websites? The only way I can is using Opera Mini or Cloud Browse. I also can't go on proxy websites on Safari since they are all blocked. I want to watch youtube but its blocked and a proxy won't help it anyways because the iPod doesn't have flash, and the app doesn't work as well.

By the way I feel so elite that I hacked the schools wifi~

you'd need to use a VPN.
those are easy to find but cost a (very) little money. Unless you know a friend whos got a server...

Schools don't block websites with router's they have servers that monitors and filter. The only way to get past it is with an exploit e.g at my old school I would get on a unused computer and have it send crazy amount of packages to crash the server.

Do you mean something like Cloud Browse?
By the way did you find out a way how to unblock GBAtemp from it?

Honestly I don't even know what a VPN is.

a VPN is some kind of proxy through which all your network communication are tunnelled.
the VPN connection is completely encrypted so nothing can be blocked at all (as long as you're connected to the VPN)
google it up for more info

also i can't change the website to bypass that protection. gbatemp is about gaming and i can't change that fact just because your school's hacked wifi can't use it...

I use proxy sites. They get the job done for going on Youtube and stuff. Unfortunately, you can't post on forums and stuff with it.

Another trick I learned is changing http:// to https://. It's not the best method as some stuff is still blocked, but it's good for just viewing a webpage.

It worked last year.

Some school's filter can track patterns so just using a proxies can get you easily blocked even if it's encrypted. I'm not sure how a VPN works so I can't personally rule it out as option.

Also another work around can be using flexamail. What flexamail does is that it downloads the page you want to view and send it in an e-mail, the only downside is that if the page you want to view contains a lot of data it'll take forever for it to be sent and it may not look as pretty as a html site.

at my school, I just portscanned the IT admin guy to see what port all his traffic was going through and changed my port to the same. worked like a charm.

That sounds intriguing. When I was in school, the IT guys all knew me so my laptop had access to whatever because we were buddies. I was lucky

Back in high school I had a number of ways to get through the security, which they tried to tighten up every 2 months (because I kept showing them a new way through the system every month). It was only in the last term that I told them I also had their Admin password (and everybody elses passwords), so security meant virtually nothing to me anyway. It didn't matter much, because the sheer level of P2P programs, illegal music, illegal games, and very illegal porn I uncovered for them across the network kinda balanced out the fact that a student should never have such freedom on a school network (not that they could stop me, even when they tried).

EDIT: On the other hand, that's also the very reason why you should never mess with web filters - they're there to stop kids from going onto websites they shouldn't be on. School is for learning, not for 'temping or noobtoobing or facebooking, etc. It's certainly not for downloading illegal stuff. Save that for when you get home.

As for websense, there used to be a backdoor where, if you discovered it, you could adjust its settings (from turning down its aggressiveness to completely disabling it). I don't know if they still have that though, since I finished high school 6 years ago.

Schools usually have an alternative proxy which gives access to all sites. Usually used by the teachers. You'd probably have to get to a teachers computer or an Admin's computer and use their proxy instead.

Nope it blocks all the teachers computers as well.

Most schools I've visited block the C drive first, then all functions that don't use one of a set of prescribed programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Photoshop, etc). Task Manager would be impossible under such conditions, although website filters are normally done on a server, not the individual computer, so you wouldn't see any related process to kill.

But then again, different schools have different policies regarding IT security. My school had me blatantly advertising to them that their security was weak and many students did illegal things. Shortly before I left, they even started to use remote administration to enable the Admin to watch what people do, freeze input (mouse/keyboard), close down any activities not associated with work (e.g. games) and delete any illegal files in their account, all whilst they're watching. Sure, they didn't know about spoofing at the time (making my screen appear to be someone elses to outside viewers, making me seem like I'm doing harmless innocent Word processing), but it caught a LOT of students out. Fortunately nobody else knew about spoofing, so I could carry on as I always did - which was admittedly listening to music and working on my 2nd novel during over half my lessons.

Temp shouldnt be blocked, i get on it all the time at school without doing anything. In any case, you shouldn't really be on sites like that, why would you need to? says the one who goes to temp, but i do all of my school work and get A's.

When a teacher is absent I could go on the temp.
