I have a Wii U on 5.4.0 (sadly) and I'm blocking updates on the TubeHax DNS. I remember there was an old method with just DNS blocking on OpenDNS (I did notice new URLs) and YouTube would work. I thought that it was the app that just wasn't going to work, but it was the web browser version too (or I just have a terrible connection). Is there anyway to run YouTube?

The problem with OpenDNS is that if your IP changes and you don't update it on OpenDNS it will stop blocking the URLs. The best way IMO (as long as you don't bring your Wii U to other places often) is to block them manually on your router but not all routers have URL blocking support.

Do you know if Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspots IP Addresses change?

I go between Tubehax DNS, and a proxy from a forum called Reboot. Both work excellent, and only one of them blocks youtube (Tubehax DNS).
The proxy is from an Italian forum though, you'll need to translate to be able to read through the page.

Also I heard you can create your own proxy using ccproxy.
