How to add a custom intro to a ROM?

I want to add an intro to a NDS ROM of New Super Mario Bros. (U). Just a static image, nothing more. I tried using CrystalTile, but the Add Intro button did not work because it was missing some variables.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
