How the hell do you maintain an HTC desire??

It's getting annoying now, keeps restarting, been an hour and I don't want to reset factory settings if it removes my sms stuff.

It usually goes into reboot loop when I press "send" sms, or while dialing/talking to someone, and when I game for a long time.

What problem is it??

Personally I'd get off the stock ROM and get a custom one. GingerVillian or Cyanogenmod, both 2.3.

Should've mentioned before, I already have a custom ROM, a FroYo 2.2...I have no idea which ROM would suit me, could I get a list of custom ROMs please?? I'll youtube them and see which one suits me.

I personally run CM7, although I have an HTC Aria, not a Desire.
