And most people here will agree with that sentiment. One of the fairly common bonds in this community is the "Robin Hood" type of attitude that ryohki mentions. Charging people to help them do what others have freely taught you would just make you seem like a selfish git as you brits like to say

My real friends and family were never going tobe charged.


I was only going to charge peopel who i see like 3 times a year.

my friend lives about 7 miles from me, and im paying for one for im, and adding the firmsware, some themes, and any games he wants, and im not charging him. I was only going to charge these two people who asked me to put some games on for them who i hardly ever see or know, so you can understand why i'd want to charge them.

I suppose, but hey. I put loads on for my cousin yesterday, and downloaded loads for him yesterday, thankfully my download speed was very high yesterday so they didnt take long to download. Most of my friends arent very knowing of technology. they know how to search the internet, and go on word and stuff, but not this sort of thing.

I really hope you get tracked down and face legal action for even contemplating such a thing. Profiting off roms that you've obviously illegally downloaded, what a moronic thing to ask. If anyone should be getting the money, it's the game companies or at least the release groups.

No but seriously, I do understand the situation that they might eventually become dependent of you. So it can be quite annoying to be copying games from time to time over to theirs. Do it like 2-3 times and then tell them that the only way they will get games from now on. Is if they are willing to learn how to. Cause it really isn't hard with the R4. Get one of the many downloading sites, get the rom, drag the rom to the R4 and that's pretty much it. If they don't want to take the time to learn, then leave it at that.

Indeed. Selling copyrighted material automatically and immediately becomes a criminal offense. Downloading copyrighted material illegally is a civil offense. You don't wanna be charged as a criminal, do you?

I'd say hook them up the first time (for free) with the utilities and everything for their R4 as well as some games. Show them how to do use the utilities and load ROMs (as you do it for them the first time), then tell them they are on their own after that. Maybe point them to one site they could get ROMs from....not all the ones you know, just one. If they're that interested in it all, they will find others themselves. Tell them about GBAtemp so they can ask questions for their own self.

Everyone is a noob when they first get into these things. Tell them they are just noobs right now and need to learn how to do this stuff on their own because you can't hold their hand forever. If they really care and have any intelligence at all, they won't be noobs for long.

Now....for girls, especially of the HOT variety that you may actually have a chance to get with. Keep them noobs as long as possible.
