i wanted to know as i had an xbox hdd died in it so when i was at a school gala i found an xbox took it home dvd drive was broken so i switched for the drive in the xbox that had a broken hdd and then i turned on the xbox but gave me red light and error so i just put it out in my garage in a box was cleaning out the garage today and tested it and it works fine so happy as i already have another xbox but its 99% like new in box so i really did not want to use it as its the halo xbox and i wanted to keep it in the best shape i could

so happy this works as i own like 41 xbox games

also is there a easy way to soft-mod this as i suck at installing chips as i have never done any soldering work before

    there's 4.7 GB available on drive E:
    One song is like.... 3MB?
    Do the math yourself ;p

You can softmod it, provided you have an original copy of Splintercell, Mech Assault 1 or 007 Agent under Fire, along with an Action Replay to transfer hacked saves or a Xbox controller to USB cable (to inject saves in a original MU)
You can also hotswap, but I advice against it heavily since it can easily kill your harddrive.

    As for upgrading the drive.
Xboxhdmaker can format and inject dash files etc.
Just dump your HDD key and burn it, along with your C: and E: folders and the program itself to a CD and boot that.

You can solder on a USB cord to your controller.
It uses the same colour coded wiring as the USB.
