Hacking How is video playback on Vwii?

I remember watching movies a long time ago on my Wii (I think it was called MPlayer), and if I skipped too fast, the app would crash.

Is this fixed on the Wii U? Can I stream something from a local network (I know this has existed for sometime) or will the same thing happen?

for Wii/vWii you can use WiiMC and setup a smb share for streaming

for Wii U you can setup a plex media server on your pc and use the Wii U Internet browser to watch

have a look for m-ce player i think its called that. on the normall wii it played pretty well with out too many issue's but i cant say that it definatly works on wii u yet

if it does work it should play mp4/avi/mkv and possible a couple more file types
