How is the Wii U's "DS" emulator? I've been wanting to add some

I know that Nintendo did release a handful of DS games for the Wii U. But apparently putting other DS games on the system isn't the same as it is with DS games on a 3DS. I wonder why? Has anyone had much experience playing DS on the system?

I've got a good few and they work really well, rom hacks also aswell as a d pad patch for the zelda titles that imo make them much more bearable to play.

As with anything, test it out on whatever games you want but there's obviously gonna be a hit and miss with larger games and dsi.
