Switch is barely hacked and you're already asking for N64/GCN/PS2 emulation?
Mate, that's not now it works...

I don't know if it will be capable of running Dolphin.
It should as the CPU is ARM based and dolphin has an ARM port.
PS2... idk, doubt it, N64, perhaps Retroarch has a port to Switch?

Yes, all emus should work docked, they should work even better.

There's lakka.tv running on the switch. Currently, that's your best bet.

For standalone homebrew apps, there is a arm build of dolphin that might get ported once atmosphere is released. N64 and PS2 will likely take a bit longer but we could still see them.

Guys, don't recomend Lakka if it still have the batery issue, or has no audio.

Edit: I see people liking this "old" post. To clarify, Lakka does now have audio (via bluetooth), and it does not mess up with your battery anymore. Using Lakka is not a bad option now, at least from my point of view.

@alexg1989 NGC and PS2 doesn't work with Lakka yet.
As the others said, Lakka is your best alternative right now.
You can play NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, N64, PS1, PSP, Sega Megadrive and Sega Saturn. It also supports Videos and Music (without fixed Kernel for Audio, these two are more or less useless) as well as Images (Image viewer).

It's true that there are issues with the Battery but because my Switch is connected to my Powerbank almost every time I use Lakka, I don't really care about that :P
Hopefully this Issue will be fixed someday.

Here's a Video I recorded playing Kingdom Hearts - Birth by Sleep (PSP) on Nintendo Switch.

Maybe you could work on fixing those issues, or better yet work on a totally new alternative from the ground up, and then you could recommend that instead of complaining.

I didn't recommend it, I just said that it was the best option
It's not. At least, nor for end user. I know the feel of having something that works pretty fine but you have to be consecuent and think twice about who you recomend it.

Why should I? I'd do it if I want or have some time, but the thing is I don't want to. But in the other hand, I also don't give to someone I don't know something I programmed (or optimized, in this case) if I'm 100% sure it'll break something he has.

Why should you contribute to fixing an issue in a community you're apart of instead of disparaging and misrepresenting the hard work and effort of someone else? Gee, I don't know......

This is not the point at all. I did not say it's a bad work or something, I said it's not for the end user. Let people see it if they want, but don't talk about it as if it were an option for them.

The guide has a glaring red disclaimer about the battery issue. Some users will be scared and bail out, some users will care, some users will not. It's not of my responsibility.
Tbh I still don't really understand what the Battery issue really is^^'
I've tested a lot stuff with Linux and Lakka but except sometimes the switch turns off itself while in Linux and while not connected to a charger, everything works fine.
I don't have any problems in HorizonOS, tho.

Audio Support = Not yet
Joycon Support = Works fine on Lakka
yaa....personaly I would rather not play games without audio since it's a major part of them. That and there are also a few rythm games I would love to play that are from the psp like Taiko Drum Master and the Miku Project Diva series but obviously the lack of audio would make them unplayable...well, they'd be playable but playing a music based game without music is sorta pointless

Tbf op only asked how it was coming along. Not "which of these emulators are available right now". I don't think it was ever implied as being ready for the end user.

Pointing out flaws isn't complaining, especially when they are legitimate issues to be aware of before investing time into a project.

That being said, emulation on the Switch is still in the very early stages
