This year has been a tough one. I hope all y’all have been okie at least. I’m offering free kitty hugs to whoever needs it :3c

As for the thread, well... how has being stuck home changed you? This can be mentally/personality-wise, physically (if you’re comfortable with it), or perhaps new hobbies you gained while being bored this year.

And to those who are still struggling, don’t worry. Good things will very likely start happening next year :3c
I don’t have anything else to sayyyy-
So here’s a kit kit- for fun

not much, i just lost a few months of classes and already struggled before, the part i really liked was actually staying home, this half back to normality is what annoys me, either have a full quarantine for the entire year, or go back fully to normality, this half thing is awful

It made me save lots of money hehe thinks to not able to travel and also companies didn’t make alot of good games this year.

I got enough money for my needs but I feel empty maybe because I cut some relationships these. Some people were treating me badly but I kept them because I didn’t want to be alone and they used to visit me a lot. However corona virus times isolated us which made think deeper about these relationships. I realized I didn’t need for months so why Should I take the hurt?

It gave me time to focus on healthy food to eat like meats hehe.

as an isolated person who always at home I was laughing little bit because all of the world lived my life hehe ..... how is it for social people I wonder.

To be honest, it mostly changed me due to our first child being born (january 17th). It also (barely) aligned with the "our house's first stage of renovation is finished", so we actually had somewhat of a comfortable place to live in.

This, in effect, caused the covid pandemic to not do me much initially. Perhaps a few days of "why do I have to stay at home???", but then I found out that a baby takes a lot of effort and fills your day completely.
There were also a lot of smaller things to be taken care of (mostly things that had to find an actual place to be after being boxed in the garage for nearly a year). It certainly wasn't me at my best, but we managed.

Things looked a bit better in...about may-june/july. The first wave was gone, the weather better, girlfriend got a new job and our baby went to daycare. Oh, and my karate class restarting, albeit with constraints. Father-in-law and me started the second phase of renovation (and fourth, which...girlfriend thought to be a good idea to combine). That's still ongoing, but the results are starting to show.

Unfortunately, things are...not the best right now. Yes, I'm back at work for about half time, so the other half is renovating home (the working is also mostly teleworking, btw). But with less light, colder weather and the second wave not really slowing down (read: second Belgium lockdown probably imminent :( ), my mood is less optimistic. Girlfriend's usually exhausted from her job(1), the renovating seemingly going on endlessly and hardly ever seeing any friends(2) is starting to take its toll.

I know: the things I mention are temporary (at the very least the 2nd part of renovations should realisticly be over before 2021), and the whole covid-situation will improve once there's a proper cure and/or vaccine, but for the mean time...I'll go with "2020 has made me more pessimistic".

(1): perhaps should be noted that they're relocating, so it's a temporary stress (as opposed to her previous jobs, where it was like this nearly constantly)
(2): the idea was that we'd build a social network after moving here. But first renovations took far longer than expected, then there was the pregnancy and now the covid-situation. So...

Used to have to travel to uni, via driving to St. Leonards Station, then train-ing to Central Station, then walking to the correct university building. That, incidentally, also used to be the majority of my physical exercise too - in other words, I've got a larger belly and less stamina than I used to, since I generally dislike exercise.

That sucks.

Staying home doesn't change me anything. I have plenty things to do. Cooking, cleaning, discards things that I don't need anymore, Playing PS4 and Nintendo Switch, exercise some and talking with relatives, family, and my very trust friends on facetime/web. No problem. It doesn't effected me at all since stuck at home for 3 months. Now I am good and going out with mask and hands wash lots with soaps and alcohol of above 70 percents since March. I am good.

To be honest, I prefer 1980's and 1990's. Hate 2000's and beyond. The world is getting bad and most people are horrible.

Nothing really.

My hobby of going to car boot sales to find old tools, games and books was stopped for a while, and in some ways won't be back until next year, but not like I don't have endless amounts of old books to read, games to play, and tools to fiddle with already. Skips were still full of fun things to fix and use for parts as well. Already spend my days reading books and learning things so I did not have any kind of year of learning, and exercise was already something I had enough of normally so that too. I guess I had wanted to ride my bike a bit more but with nowhere to go at the end (riding in a circle is terribly boring) I did not do as much as I had planned late last year.

Work I suppose was a bit slower, though that was by choice and had already planned to spend a few months off, so I decided to use some savings instead. Not like I would have ever had a house or retired anyway.

When walking the dog I suppose I went more for country paths than I might have otherwise, however that meant an absolutely bumper harvest of fruit as I ranged further than I had ever before to discover even more.

Going to the supermarket... I normally wore a scarf when wandering around anyway (keeps the sun off my head and bugs out of my mouth on a bike) and was otherwise used to wearing a mask where it actually matters (paint things, grind carbon or grind metal and neglect to wear one and it hurts and I do/train people in doing all that). Spend enough time in greasy engines/machines and you learn not to touch your face so that was no great hardship. To that end wearing a muzzle in the shops is no great deal other than I can't lip read. Ordinarily general politeness dictates you pull the scarf down so I guess I had to unlearn that.

Saw a bit less of a few people I guess, and maybe did not visit any attractions.

Let's see, it all started in December 23rd of 2019; My friend Allison went with her boyfriend (the media says hiking in the woods, but she doesn't hike, she just goes there to smoke weed) and she went missing. Her boyfriend was found 22 hours later passed out in someone's truck in their driveway. He's been arrested on separate charges, and is doing 3 years for those unaffiliated theft charges. But my friend Allison was still missing. Search parties search for her all winter long.

January: Still no signs of Allison being found, and my hopes of her being found alive are dwindling.

February
: I don't like that we live in a dumpy apartment with slob as a roommate, so we get a new place, which forces her to move out. Finally, things are going right for us.

March 5th, 2020
: I clock into work and my mom calls me. She NEVER calls me unless it's an emergency. So I go to the break room where it's easier to hear her. She tells me over the phone that my brother Andrew just died in a car accident. I might as well have died too, because from here on out, I'm not the same person I was. I've died inside. So we get my brother's remains cremated, and we're starting to plan a Celebration of Life, when COVID hits. Lockdowns begin, and now we can't even have a Celebration of Life that my brother deserves; My family can't get closure.
The rest of March: LOCKDOWN IN FULL EFFECT.

April: No COVID cure. My Great Uncle passed away. (Old age, bad heart)

May
: No COVID cure. Uneventfully. Can't do shit for my birthday.

June
: No COVID cure. My missing friend Allison is found DEAD. Still a cold case, with no new leads.

July
: No COVID cure. My Great Aunt passed away (Wife of my Great Uncle. Old age, broken heart.) And my Girlfriend lost her job due to being bullied by her boss.

August
: No COVID cure. We hit a deer with our car, costing us $500 USD to fix it. Later in August: Our transmission goes out. (Fixed for free, thankfully!) Everything around me is on fire, and smoke is dense outside.

September: No COVID cure, but russia announces a vaccine. I lost my job of 7 years.

October: No COVID cure or vaccine. My grandma's sister fell on some stairs, snapped her upper right arm in half, bruised her ribs, and chipped a tooth. Hospitalized for a day.

November: Disasters To Be Determined. Could possibly lead to another 4 year Trumpster fire, we'll have to wait and see.

December: Disasters To Be Determined. Could possibly lead to another 4 year Trumpster fire, we'll have to wait and see.

tough is an understatement. aside from covid, there's my dad who's had two heart attacks and had a cancerous kidney removed. he just came home today in fact. he also lost his job due to covid. he was/is an auto mechanic. since he's going to be 65 in November (27th same as Jimi Hendrix birthday ;)), he's just getting unemployment 'til he's on retirement. unemployment was a doozy too, because it's so fucked up due to covid. I think there were issues logging in or even filling out the form. this happened for weeks, so we went weeks with just my mom's paycheck. my dad might be the main thing.

I have a condition that's put me on disability. afaik, disability in the USA lasts three years, which will be July of next year for me. it took 29 months just to get on to it (rejected twice 'til I got a lawyer). then, I'm going to file for permanent disability, since my condition is permanent anyway. to get by, I've been playing the switch a lot. it's helped me cope, because I've been focusing on the games. I don't use faqs, so it does take a lot of focus. heh, I'm at this one shine in super mario sunshine that has yoshi in the name, yet I can't find yoshi.. that one is starting to piss me off, since I've wasted like 7 hours on it thus far.

with disability, you can't have more than $2,000 in all accounts combined. a couple days ago, we consolidated all of my accounts so that it's easier to manage. anyway, the switch gives me incentive to buy games again. I'm enjoying what I have (currently 123 games on a 1TB micro sd, which I bought for $199.99 on black Friday of last year). speaking of which, there was a sale on the same card on prime day. it was $182, but you have to wait a month. I bought one for my second switch. anyway, I had seriously thought about sending Nintendo a message, thanking them for the switch/games, cuz it's helped a lot.

Wow. I have nothing but remorse for those you've lost and what you've had to through this year so far, you most definitely made it the top of the list for having the world's worst 2020. I pray 2021 will be better for all of us and especially you.

It honestly has changed me, mostly to be more careful about my health and start taking it seriously. I have a terrible immune system and I am finally taking that seriously. I got married to @FatalAryia, the Human. There’s also Mask Life™ which has allowed me to embrace my inner femboy. So, it’s a good year for me.

Mask Life™ is when you wear cute masks that don’t really do much in the form of protecting but are cute and make you cuter! Oh and you excitedly say “Mask Life™!”
